Great news!
A study showed 5-HTP, an amino acid that converts to serotonin in the body may also help with weight reduction.
A double-blind study involving 25 overweight non-insulin -dependent diabetic outpatients, receiving 750 mg/day or a placebo for two weeks was prescribed. The placebo group saw no reduction in daily calorie intake, patients receiving 5-HTP significantly reduced their daily calorie intake by 21% (from 19333 to 1527 calories) over two weeks and lost five pounds.
