Infertility is an issue today as women wait until there 30’s to conceive. Progesterone plays a role in conception. Progesterone governs the second half or luteal phase of your menstrual cycle, prepares for pregnancy, helps control abnormal menstrual bleeding, helps prepare for a fertilized egg prior to implantation, assists in producing breast milk and helps maintain pregnancy.

If progesterone is low, miscarriage can occur. Also, very important to know it builds new bones and promotes breakdown of fats with the liver. Health care professionals use progesterone to help women in the process of conception. During pregnancy your body produces only progesterone. When pregnant it is often referred to as “gestation”, take from the word progesterone.
